Most women are not aware of the fact that breastfeeding sometimes more difficult to get used to than giving birth itself. Sometimes it is made even harder when the baby is born via C-Section.
The trick is to give yourself at least 2 weeks to start feeling comfortable with breastfeeding and make sure you pay attention to position, latch and don’t introduce bottles for as long as possible.
Also, make sure that an artificial nipple is not introduced early on in the process as that sometimes causes nipple confusio and causes the babies not to recognize your nipple as a source of food.
Also remember that breastfeeding is NOT supposed to hurt. Many times, when the baby is improperly latched on, it can cause excruciating pain to the mom. You then need to unlatch and start again. Just make sure you put your finger in the babies mouth to break the suction or you will cause yourself some unnecessary pain.
